Sebastião Salgado: Genesis

From arguably the world's most revered photo-journalist Sebastião Salgado comes a new exhibition eight years in the making: Genesis. Concerned with capturing the essence of a world untouched by modern man, 200 pieces offer up a new visual of how different landscapes continue to move regardless of global frustrations that continue to rumble on.

Built predominantly around stills, with only brief interludes of movement, this collection is a quiet rendition of experience and maturity which serves to only prove Salgado's mastery with the camera. Some may suggest it lacks a genuine empathy or political dialogue with the spaces it captures, but it's worth remembering that material which moves us is nearly always something worth seeing. So stop talking, and look.

Now showing at the Natural History Museum, London.
