Cycle Around The World
Vintage or sparkling and new, the bicyclette is one of the world's grandest inventions. Perfect for moseying around, rolling up and down hills or just racing through the city streets. Style Et Al has collected together a little scrap book of pinterest and tumblr images that best encapsulate the sweetest mode of transport that ever existed. We heart bicycles.
Salone del Mobile
The Salone del Mobile 2013 - held in Milan back in April - was an extraordinary trade show featuring some of the most innovative, unique and stylish designs from across the globe. This year, it was hailed as a mecca for the best and brightest creators who were experimenting with light, texture, space and silhouette, and with just a small sample of what sorts of pieces were on offer shown below we think you'll agree it was pretty fabulous. Let's begin, shall we...
Ludovica and Roberto Palomba shelving system - Kartell
Acorn Lamps, Maija Puoskari
Victor Vasilev's A45 basin
Gastone Rinaldi - T 904
The Cell, Tom Dixon ('The Gem' was another fantastic set of strung lights)
Ascent Lights by Daniel Rybakken
So, whilst Style Et Al may have been a little breezy on the uptake, we think you'll agree there's no doubt that style and interior design make a lovely couple.
Fabulous Folio
Following a curiously enthralling talk at The Folio Society's Members Room in Holborn (on prolific crime writer Agatha Christie, since you ask), it's quite clear that some of the most stylish things around are more than a little bookish. Or in this case, a lot bookish.
The Folio Society was created to meet a specific criteria that is rather short and really very sweet. To provide people with beautiful books that could be bought, kept and loved for years. And all that whilst passing the minimum cost on to the rest of us.
Having been gifted one of their wonderful new editions it only remains to say that they truly are as specially crafted, wondrously illustrated and lovingly bound as you would hope. The perfect addition to any little bookshelf. 44 Eagle Street... go now and thank me later.

Time to Wine
Hollywood powerhouse Brangelina have made their first foray into wine making with a release from their Provence estate in France. To prove the A-list duo are taking it all very seriously they have enlisted the help of the legendary Perrin family of Chateau de Beaucastel, with the resulting (organic) product providing 'delicate aromas of white fruits, just-picked strawberries and floral notes'. French wine critic Thierry Desseauve's words, not ours.
So if you're ready to sip some super stylish wine, then Chateau Miravel rosé might be just what you need.

Sebastião Salgado: Genesis
From arguably the world's most revered photo-journalist Sebastião Salgado comes a new exhibition eight years in the making: Genesis. Concerned with capturing the essence of a world untouched by modern man, 200 pieces offer up a new visual of how different landscapes continue to move regardless of global frustrations that continue to rumble on.
Built predominantly around stills, with only brief interludes of movement, this collection is a quiet rendition of experience and maturity which serves to only prove Salgado's mastery with the camera. Some may suggest it lacks a genuine empathy or political dialogue with the spaces it captures, but it's worth remembering that material which moves us is nearly always something worth seeing. So stop talking, and look.
Now showing at the Natural History Museum, London.

Mr Gatsby
There have always been men that cause chaos from between the pages of books - hello, Mr Darcy - but with the grand unveiling of Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby only weeks away, there comes a protagonist more intoxicating then most.
And why?
Could it be the inimitable glamour of the era, the unmistakable fallen hero ideal or the simple fact that Gatsby has become a cultural touchstone for all 20th century men who strove to breach the doors of America's upper class?
All good options, but frankly we're more inclined to think it's down to another rather more modern man. Leonardo Dicaprio. Swoon. Although the devilishly handsome costumes and decadent entrapments of wealth will probably not harm his chances of bewitching us, it's no small coincidence that Dicaprio has built his career on seducing women (and men) through the movie screen.
16th May for a UK release... It's in the diary.

System
Looking for the latest beacon of cool in a market over-saturated with glossy magazines and ad heavy publications? There's only one name you need to know: System. With heavyweights Alexia Niedzielski, Elizabeth von Guttman, Jonathan Wingfield and Thomas Lenthal behind the brand, it's not difficult to imagine just how and why this new release is ruffling a few publishing feathers (their cumulative CV includes titan masthead entries - think Industrie, Numéro and Ever Manifesto, and involvement from Condé Nast's own Marie-Amélie Sauvé). And their first cover launches on a serious high, featuring an in-depth interview with Mr Nicolas Ghesquière and the reasons surrounding his murky departure from luxe fashion house Balenciaga. System... We salute you.
Cities
From Vienna to Istanbul, Beijing to Colombia, cities, states and countries the world over demand and deserve attention for all they can offer. If you're looking for the most stylish, may we recommend...
Fjordlands National Park, New Zealand
Tuscany, Italy
Santorini, Greece
Mount Roraima, Venezuela
Plitvice Lakes, Croatia
Rajasthan, India
